28 June 2021 | The NCIP Chairperson and NTF-ELCAC Executive Director Sec Allen A. Capuyan together with NCIP Commissioners, Bureau Directors & Regional Directors attended the SILOM State of Lumad in Mindanao through the VTC. Topics discussed were ICCs/IPs Burning Issues such as: 1. The alleged fear brought by the NCIP Resolution, which denounce the term “Lumad” because of its alleged association with the CPP-NPA-NDF. 2. The alleged escalation of land conflict inside the ancestral domain due to overlapping claims of occupancy rights and proliferation of medium to high end structures that has resulted to the changing landscapes of ADs.3. Insecurities of the IP representation and participation in the BARMM area.The VTC meeting was also attended by Datu Lito Omos former Secretary General Lumad Mindanaw, NUPL, KAABAY INC, Lumad Mindanaw People’s Federation, Teduray ICCs/IPs and other NGO’s. The Chairperson assured the Filipino people and ICCs/IPs that we cannot allow buying and selling of land inside the Ancestral Domain.
