The NCIP through Director Dahlialyn D Dait-Cawed, MNSA, of the Foreign Assisted Programs and International Relations Office (FAPIRO) and Director Reynaldo A. Dingal of the Office of Empowerment and Human Rights (OEHR) represented the NCIP to the 4th EU-GSP+ Monitoring Mission.
Following the successful submission of the Philippines’ response to the 4th EU-GSP+ Monitoring Scorecard through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) with other concerned government agencies, to the European Commission in 2020 and relative supplementary response in 2021, the Philippines (PH) is now at the last stage of the ongoing 4th GSP+ monitoring process.
The Monitoring Mission aims to tackle the implementation of the country’s commitments under the 27 International Conventions on Human Rights (HR), Labor, Environmental Protection, and Good Governance.
Issues/concerns indicated in the EU Parliament Resolution on the recent human rights developments in the Philippines were discussed, PH delegation shed light on matters at hand. The PH delegation composed of different government agencies answered EU delegation’s questions with factual data.
The outcomes of the event will form an integral part of the European Commission’s country report on the Philippines that would illuminate the country’s future beneficiary status under the EU-GSP+ scheme.
Finally, the NCIP Directors proudly turned-over copies of NCIP-Project Epanaw’s three (3)-volume Coffee Table Books (CTBs), the 2019 and 2020 Annual Accomplishment Report, and the 2019 NTF-ELCAC Accomplishment Report to the EU Delegation to the Philippines composed of the following:
