The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) joined the ceremonial turnover of outputs of the socio-cultural mapping and documentation in ASEAN Heritage Parks – Mt. Apo Natural Park at the 3rd National Protected Area Conference (NPAC) on 25 June 2024 held at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Quezon City. The 3rd NPAC is organized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Biodiversity Management Bureau (DENR-BMB) in collaboration with various partners in biodiversity conservation with the theme, “Building Resilience of People and Ecosystems through Innovation and Enhanced Collaboration in Protected Area Management”.
The outputs were entitled Erensiya for the Bagobo Tagabawa and Koruwonnan to Ubu Monuvu. The ceremony was filled with cultural performances arranged by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and performed by representatives from the two IP Groups. Education and Culture Development Division (ECDD) OIC-Chief Ms. Jordine Rose R. Ocon of the Office on Education, Culture, and Health (OECH) received the framed cover of the outputs as well as a Certificate of Appreciation awarded to the NCIP in recognition of its invaluable contribution as partner in the completion of the said outputs.
