On July 10, 2024 to July 12, 2024, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), through the Information Communication Technology Division (ICTD) of the Office on Policy, Planning and Research (OPPR), conducted a Capacity Building on Digital Transformation.
In the activity, Chairperson Jennifer Pia Sibug-Las conveyed that in the age of digitalization, data interpretation is critically important in decision making. Also, Executive Director Mervyn H. Espadero, stressed that the Commission shall adapt with fast-changing ICT environment. Additionally, Administrative Service (AS) Director Atty. Josefina Rodriguez-Agusti emphasized the importance of embracing change, stating that evolution of technology is inevitable, its direction is ours to shape. If one doesn’t like where it’s headed, take action to change it.
The capacity building includes informative discussions on Data Science and Analytics delivered by Dr. Rodolfo C. Raga Jr., Business Intelligence Workshop (Power BI) facilitated by Mr. Genebee C. Nofuente, Building ICT Solutions through Web Application Framework (Laravel) explored by Mr. Jaymell Historillo, ICT Project Management fundamentals shared by Mr. Edwin de Guzman and the presentation of NCIP Roadmap for Digital Transformation by Ms. Raychelou T. Valencia.
A total of forty-seven (47) participants from the thirteen (13) NCIP regional offices and the central office actively participated in the in-depth discussions and interactive sessions. Moreover, active engagement and collaborative exchange of ideas among the participants yielded data-driven mindset and practical solutions that could be directly applied to streamline and optimize the day-to-day operations and management of the agency.
The activity was held at Ardenhills Suites, Quezon City.
