Through the coordination of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) with the DNA Analysis Laboratory Team of Natural Science Research Institute-UP Diliman, the latter conducted the orientation webinar, “KOMUNIDAD NATIN, KASAYSAYAN NATIN: Ang Bioprospecting at Buhay Katutubo” facilitated by Dr. Maria Teresa Guia Padilla and Dr. Ma. Corazon De Ungria which was attended by NCIP employees from Central and Regional Offices.

Atty. Antonio G.M. La Viña, the resource speaker, imparted his knowledge and experiences on the concept of Bioprospecting, Biopiracy, and regulatory regimes governing research and activities with Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples.
