NCIP AND FFP FPIC-BENEFIT SHARING PROJECT LAUNCH

14 November 2023 | The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) and
Forest Foundation Philippines (FFP) launched Free and Prior, Informed Consent – Benefit Sharing Project (FPIC-Benefit Sharing Project) in Cocoon Boutique Hotel, Quezon City.
The purpose of the FPIC-Benefit Sharing Project is to establish partnership with FFP in developing forest carbon projects and create a conscious approach to sustainable development where a transparent and inclusive policy framework shall be created.
In her message, Chairperson Jenniffer Pia Sibug-Las underscored the importance of policy as a mechanism to foster co-ownership among stakeholders and facilitate an environment of contribution and cooperation to foster positive change on social and economic empowerment.
To cap the activity, NCIP and FFP succeeded in launching the project to usher a sustainable future for Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) within their Ancestral Domains/Lands.
