NCIP and IP Leaders Courtesy Visit to Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Chairperson and IP Leaders paid a courtesy visit to Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on 13 February 2023, at the Senate of the Philippines, Pasay City, Metro Manila.

During the visit, Chairperson Capuyan informed Senator Bato of the different issues and concerns relating to Indigenous Peoples in their respective ancestral domains and emphasized, the importance of keeping the peace in Indigenous Cultural Communities to deter insurgency in the country. He said, “If the community is peaceful, there will be no insurgencies”.

Senator Dela Rosa expressed his gratitude for the visit. He assured his continued support to Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) and expressed his appreciation for NCIP’s steadfast commitment in the implementation of the Commission’s programs and services.

Chairperson Capuyan also shared the importance of operationalizing the 11 Building Blocks (11BBs) for a resilient, responsive, and relevant ICCs/IPs in their ancestral domains. The Chairperson also turned over the Project Epanaw’s Three (3) Coffee Table Books and a poster of 11BBs to the Senator.
