29 November 2022 | NCIP-BAVI CEREMONIAL TURNOVER OF LIVELIHOOD ASSISTANCE TO 27 BLAAN FORMER REBELS
27 Blaan Former Rebels/Kamlong Banwe also known as Bagani from Sitio Nop, Brgy. Spring in Alabel, Sarangani received livelihood assistance package from Bounty Agro Ventures Inc. (BAVI) in a ceremonial turnover held in the Capitol Gym of Sarangani on November 29, 2022.
The BAVI represented by Senior Vice President, Dr. Erasmus J. Paderes led the turnover of livelihood assistance packages amounting to PHP750,000 to the 27 Blaan FRs/Bagani of Sitio Nop, Barangay Spring. The package includes Contract Growing (CG) Business, seed money for the establishment of chicken house/poultry house, seed capital for corn farming/production and solar panels. Another highlight of the said event is the signing of the Broiler Chicken Growing Agreement between BAVI and the Blaan Bagani/Kamlong Banwe represented by Fulung Vergelio P. Balco, the Municipal Tribal Chieftain of Alabel.
The said livelihood intervention is part of the NCIP-BAVI Memorandum of Agreement which was signed last September 10, 2022. Said partnership aims to strengthen cooperation in strengthening the socio-economic development of ICCs/IPs through the Contract Growing Program, Reseller’s Program of BAVI products, Suppliers of Lemon Grass and Onion Leeks, and Suppliers of Corn for BAVI Feed Mills, and also to be beneficiaries of BAVI’s Corporate Social Responsibility in the areas of Sports, Education, Disaster relief, Livelihood, Employment, and Social Inclusion.
The turnover ceremony was joined by NCIP headed by Chairman Allen A. Capuyan, Commissioner Jennifer Sibug-Las, Director Geroncio R. Aguio, Ms. Glenda A. Pua, Regional Director Jeanne Anne Moendeg-Zoilo, Provincial Officer Joey Bugay, and CSC Head Mr. Luciano Lumancas.
Sarangani Province through the support of Congressman Steve C. Solon, the Provincial Government through the leadership of Gov. Rogelio D. Pacquiao, and the Local Government of Alabel through the leadership of Mayor Vic Paul M. Salarda showed strong support to the project and committed to ensure its success and hopes for its eventual expansion in the whole Saranggani.
Also present to witness the event are the NCIP Region 12 employees, BAVI Regional and General Santos employees, Alabel IPMR Fulung Manuelo S. Mangalon, Provincial IPMR Datu Mogot Benwe Benjamin R. Donato, Gen. Bogie de Leon, Members of Sangguniang Bayan, Municipal Tribal Council of Alabel, Baganis/Kamlong Banwe and IPS Representatives.
