NCIP conducts an agency-wide Data Privacy Training

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) conducts a hybrid Data Privacy Training for its officers and rank-and-file employees at the Ardenhills, Quezon City on August 5-6, 2024.
The training is an essential component of NCIP’s learning environment to educate staff and personnel on the principles, practices, and regulations related to data privacy which is a crucial capability to ensure compliance with data protection laws and safeguarding sensitive information within the agency and with its stakeholders-partners.
During the event, data privacy laws and regulations; best practices for data collection, storage and sharing; legal requirements and best practices of data handling, and lessons on case studies on data breaches, among others were discussed to ensure alignment of NCIP’s data management practices to NCInational and international standards.
Present during the event were NCIP Chairperson Jennifer Pia Sibug-Las, Ethnographic Commissioner for CAR and Region Gaspar A. Cayat; Executive Director Mervyn H. Espadero and NCIP Central Office Bureau Directors and their respective staff. Joining via Zoom Platform were NCIP Regional Office Directors and staff. The training was led by the Information Communication Technology Division under the Office on Policy, Planning and Research.
