NCIP COURTESY CALL TO EMBASSY OF ARGENTINE REPUBLIC

18 August 2023 | National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Chairperson Capuyan paid a courtesy call to Minister Plenipotentiary Andrea Silvina Repetti of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in the Philippines, in Makati City.
 
The visit aims to share NCIP’s undertakings in performing its’ mandate for Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous People (ICCs/IPs) and discuss future partnership with the Argentina Government.
 
The Chairperson underscored the importance of having a documentation of Philippine cultural heritage and identity. Hence, he discussed the Project Epanaw Coffee Table Books (CTBs) which compiled the culture, rituals, customs and traditions of 101 ICCs/IPs of the country into three books, geared to promote the way of life of ICCs/IPs.
 
As ways forward, Minister Repetti expressed her support to Chairperson and shall offer assistance to the agency in the implementation of NCIP’s Programs, Activities, and Projects. As a reply the Chairperson, highlighted that NCIP will host a Donor’s Forum/Fellowship in which representatives from the Embassy of the Argentine Republic will be invited.
To conclude the visit, Chairperson Capuyan provided copies of the Project Epanaw Coffee Table Books, 2022 Annual Accomplishment Report, and poster of 11 Building Blocks to the embassy.
