NCIP-CPD MOU Signing Ceremony

NCIP Regional IV-A signed a partnership with the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region IV-A through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support the Philippine Population and Development Program on October 4, 2023, at the CPD Building, Welfareville Compound, Mandaluyong City.
This undertaking is intended to create a strategic partnership between the CPD IV-A headed by Regional Director Marilyn F. Ogaya, MADem and NCIP IV-A, headed by Regional Director Dr. Carlos P. Buasen, Jr., CESO III, to support and promote responsible parenting, adolescent health and development, and GAD KATROPA and implement programs addressing gender issues among the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) in the region.
After the signing of the MOU, RD Buasen conducted a lecture on culture sensitivity to the CPD officials and employees to give them a better understanding in engaging with the IP communities. Meanwhile, Atty. Josefina S. Rodriguez-Agusti, Regional Hearing Officer (RHO) oriented the attendees on Republic Act No. 8371 otherwise known as the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997 as well as presented the thrust of the current NCIP administration.
The MOU signing and Culture Sensitivity Lecture, participated by NCIP and CPD personnel, is part of the kick-off activity of NCIP IV-A in celebration of the IP Month and 26th IPRA Anniversary.
