NCIP HOLDS ITS 1ST NATIONAL MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE (NMC) FOR F.Y. 2024

31 JANUARY 2024 | Chairperson Jennifer Pia Sibug-Las together, with Executive Director Mervyn H. Espadero, led the conduct of the 1st National Management Conference of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024.

To ensure and promote responsible fund utilization, attainment of performance targets and efficient implementation of programs, projects and activities (PAPs), NCIP – through its Office on Policy, Planning, and Research (OPPR) – quarterly conducts the National Management Conference with the intent to monitor and assess the agency’s performance both Physical and Financial relative to the approved budget for the given year.

During the meeting, status of the compliance to the agreements made during the 3rd NMC of 2023 were presented. Further, an in-depth review of the Financial and Physical Performance of NCIP for FY 2023 and a discussion of the challenges encountered in the implementation of PAPs were conducted.

Moving forward, Chairperson Sibug-Las and the Ethnographic Commissioners namely Comm. Gaspar Cayat, Comm. Simplicia Hagada, Comm. Atty. Rhodex Valenciano, Comm. Jeorge Largado, and Comm. Atty. Pinky Grace Pareja shared their insights and guidance on how to further improve the delivery of services offered by NCIP to ICCs/IPs.

Also present during the meeting are the Bureau Directors, Regional Directors, Provincial Officers, Community Service Center Heads, and other NCIP personnel and staff.
