NCIP in the National Peace Summit 2023

27 September 2023 | The NCIP through the Foreign-Assisted Programs and International Relations Office (FAPIRO) headed by Director Dahlialyn D Dait-Cawed, MNSA served as a Resource Speaker to the National Peace Summit 2023.
 
The summit served as a platform to share insights from community-based initiatives, fostering peace and facilitating exchange of experiences. The event was the highlight of the project, “Innovative Responses of Civil Society in Defending Human Rights and Promoting Peace and Development Through Challenging Times”, aiming to empower community-based leaders and members as human rights and peace advocates.
 
Director Dait-Cawed discussed the Indigenous Peoples Situationer highlighting the Agency’s Mandate and Challenges, the IP Governance, preservation of IP Culture, ecosystem in the Ancestral Domains/Ancestral Lands (ADs/ALs), Peace and Security, engaging local communities and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and the 11 Building Blocks of a resilient, responsive and relevant Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) in ADs/ALs, among others.
 
The FAPIRO Director was awarded with a Certificate of Recognition by Sulong Peace as token of appreciation.
