The development of the National Portfolio Formulation Document (NPFD) under the Eighth Cycle of the Global Environment Facility (GEF-8) was conducted on 18-20 May 2022.

The NCIP through the Foreign Assisted Programs and International Relations Office (FAPIRO) and the Office on Socio-Economic Services and Special Concerns (OSESSC) shared a presentation on Indigenous Peoples (IP) and Land Degradation, and ensured that IP-centric and IP-driven programs/activities/projects be incorporated as one of the priority agenda on said engagement.

The GEF-8 NPFE will serve as a priority tool and a guide throughout the new replenishment period. Series of consultations with key partners and stakeholders were conducted to gather project ideas that are consistent and aligned with national priorities and the programming directions of the GEF.
