23 January 2024 | Chairperson Jennifer Pia Sibug-Las together with Ethnographic Commissioners Comm. Gaspar Cayat, Comm. Simplicia Hagada, Comm. Atty. Rhodex Valenciano, Comm. Jeorge Largado, Comm. Atty. Pinky Grace Pareja, and Executive Director Mervyn H. Espadero signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Sulong Peace Inc.
The objective of the Agreement is to institutionalize an effective, efficient, functional, climate resilient and culturally sensitive training courses/seminars across all levels for Indigenous Peoples (IP) Leaders/Elders, Indigenous Political Structure (IPS), Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives (lPMRs), Indigenous Peoples Organization (lPOs), IP Youth, and IP Women.
During the signing, both parties agreed to work hand-in-hand to promote and further strengthen the rights and well-being of the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples.
To cap the ceremony, NCIP and Sulong Peace Inc. celebrated the milestone through a simple yet sumptuous meal.
