On 09 January 2024, the NCIP through the Office on Socio-Economic Services and Special Concerns (OSESSC), represented by Dir. Reynaldo Dingal and Ms. Glenda Alcantara Pua, and the National Dairy Authority (NDA), a Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation (GOCC) attached to the Department of Agriculture (DA) headed by its Administrator, Dr. Gabriel L. Lagamayo, presented for deliberation to the 9th Commission the proposed Memorandum of Agreement by and between the NCIP and the NDA during the 1st Regular Commission En Banc, Series of 2024.
The MOA contains provisions for a sufficient and sustainable supply of dairy animal products and breeding local dairy animals in the country which will play a vital role in uplifting the socio-economic well-being of the ICCs/IPs through livelihood, employment, food security and other benefits that may be derived from it.
The members of the 9th Commission composed of Chairperson Bo-i Jennifer Pia Sibug-Las, Commissioner Gaspar A. Cayat, Commissioner Simplicia Hagada, Commissioner Pinky Grace Pareja and Commissioner Rhodex Valenciano intently listened to the presentation and carefully review the provisions in the proposed MOA. Their inputs/comments helped improve and concretize to implementable terms portions of the MOA.
The 9th Commission unanimously approved the partnership agreement that will serve as a prelude to the formal collaboration between the NCIP and the NDA, which will be completed by the formal signing of the MOA.
