The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), led by NCIP Chairperson Allen A. Capuyan together with Ethnographic Commissioner for CAR and Region I Gaspar A. Cayat, conducts the 702nd Infantry Brigade 2-Day Workshop on Healing, Reconciliation, and Operationalizing the 11 Building Blocks in the Ancestral Domain in Support to the Whole-of-Government/Whole-of-Nation Approach (WoG/WoNA) by empowering the Former Rebels (FRs), IP Youth/IP Enlisted Personnel (EP), and IP Leaders from 01-02 September 2022 at the Centennial Arena, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
Present from the Province of Ilocos Norte are the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) from nine (9) Ancestral Domains namely: the Isnag ICCs/IPs from the Solsona and Cacafean Ancestral Domains; Tinguian ICCs/IPs from the Ancestral Domains in Nueva Era; Imalawa-Isnag ICCs/IPs from the Ancestral Domains of Vintar; Yapayao ICCs/IPs from the Ancestral Domains in Bagui; Isnag-Apayao ICCs/IPs from the Ancestral Domains in Dumalneg; Snag-Yapayao ICCs/IPs from the Ancestral Domains in Pagudpud; and Snag-Yapayao ICCs/IPs from the Ancestral Domains in Adams.
On the other hand, there are ICCs/IPs present from the Province of Ilocos Sur from twenty-two (22) Ancestral Domains covering the Municipalities of Alilem, Sugpon, Banayoyo, Galimuyod, Del Pilar, Sigay, Suyo, Cervantes, Quirino, Salcedo, Candon City, Sta. Cruz, Sta. Lucia, Banayoyo, Lidlidda, San Emilio, Burgos, Nagbuke, Narvacan, Cadanglaan, Magsingal, Laoingen, Sto. Domingo, Asilang, San Juan, Nagsincaoan, Sisim, and Cabugao.
Moreover, the Regional/Provincial representatives from DOJ, NBI, NEDA, PCA, BFAR, PIA, NHA, DTI, DSWD, DFA, NICA, DepEd, DILG, DENR, DAR, DA, CHR, TESDA, PNP, DPWH, DOST, DOLE, CDA, CHED, PSA, DOH, NIA, and PIA also attend the face-to-face activity as well as through video teleconferencing platform.
