THE NCIP JOINED THE KALAP LAUNCH AND CEREMONIAL MOA SIGNING AT THE PALACE

On 06 March 2023, the NCIP headed by its Chairperson, Mr. Allen A. Capuyan joined the launching of Kapatid Angat Lahat Agri Program or KALAP, and a signatory to the MOA to forge a partnership between the NCIP and Go Negosyo represented by its Founding President and Chairperson, Mr. Jose Ma. A. Concepcion III. This momentous event was held at the Ceremonial Hall in Malacañan Palace with the President, H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., witnessing the MOA signing.

The event is a major milestone of the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) which was created by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. himself. Mr. Concepcion was appointed to lead the PSAC Jobs Committee, and the platform to pursue this is called the Kapatid Angat Lahat Agri Program or KALAP.

KALAP is a public-private sector partnership initiative that aims to promote inclusive economic growth using Go Negosyo’s framework of providing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) access to 3Ms (mentorship, money, and market), process and production improvements, resources, business models, digital innovation, capacity building, and investing in new technologies in partnership with large companies or businesses (referred to as “big brother” or “big sister” conglomerates), local government units (LGUs), and government agencies to form a collaborative whole-of-nation approach or convergence.

KALAP’s objective is to empower and scale up support for nation-building through value chain integration of MSMEs, small-holder farmers, and fisherfolk, enabling them to become more productive, profitable, sustainable, and globally competitive. It also aims to foster the transformation of major agricultural commodities and industries and a conducive business environment in the Philippines.

The NCIP and Go Negosyo’s partnership and collaboration is a strategic move to ensure the utmost involvement of the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples whose Ancestral Domains are highly viable in KALAP’s initiatives that contribute to promoting and strengthening an enabling and sustainable environment and economic opportunity for entrepreneurs and agripreneurs towards sustainable farm productivity and farmers’ profitability and achieve inclusive agricultural growth.
Other NCIP officials and staff who also witnessed the event are: Commissioner Gaspar Cayat, Commissioner Jennifer Pia Sibug-Las, Dir. Gillian S. Dunuan, Dir. Reynaldo Dingal, Dir. Rosanna Lingating, Ms. Glenda Alcantara Pua, Mr. Edgardo Nicolas and Mr. Marcus Lurenzo Lugod.###
