THE NCIP PAID A COURTESY CALL ON MR. “GO NEGOSYO” JOEY CONCEPCION
20 March 2023, the NCIP headed by the Chairperson paid a courtesy call on Mr. Joey Concepcion, the Founding President and Chairman of Go Negosyo, and the lead convenor of the Kapatid Angat Lahat Agri Program (KALAP), with the former DA Secretary, now the KALAP Senior Advisor, Mr. William Dar who joined via zoom.
The Chairperson shared the socio-economic situations in the Ancestral Domains, existing partnership with National Agencies and private partnership, and the 11 Building Blocks and its roles in making resilient and responsive ICCs/IPs.
Mr. Joey Concepcion exchanged ideas how the farmers and fisherfolks can potentially earn profit, help change the mindset of a farmer to becoming an agri-preneur, and the sharing about the crucial roles of the “Big Brothers” as business mentors. Utilizing the land by determining suitable crops for planting and how to make LGUs participative in the initiative must also be thought of. He also highlighted the importance of utilizing digital platforms for micro-entrepreneurs.
On the other hand, Mr. William Dar suggested to NCIP to have a sit down meeting with the Bureau of Soil and Water Management for the crop suitability map, and determine appropriate crop and farm production depending on the type of soil in the Ancestral Domains.
Go Negosyo is setting up a meeting on Wednesday for the KALAP strategic pre-planning meeting to be participated by the NCIP, the “Big Brothers” or Business Conglomerates in the Philippines, other pertinent National Government Agencies, among others.
